Hi, I’m Mariele (pronounced Mary-ull). I have the honor of working with individuals and couples who are seeking to make changes in their lives. I believe the therapeutic relationship between counselor and client is essential in making change, therefore I take a strong relational-based approach with my clients. I prioritize authenticity, mutual respect, and genuine, human-to-human interactions with all of my clients. I aim to have a collaborative relationship where we discuss goals and determine the most effective ways to achieve those goals because you are the expert of your own experiences.

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Central Michigan University. I have completed Level 1 training in The Gottman Method which is a form of couples-based therapy that is built on decades of research and observation regarding couples’ interactions. I have also completed Phase 1 Brainspotting training which is a type of therapy that helps people process trauma and emotional pain by using the connection between where they look and how they feel. I incorporate skills from other theories including Emotion Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Exposure and Response Prevention, and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
